Our founder, the late David Knox, created the Strathaven Choral Society in 1972 to bring great Classical Music to the wider population of Lanarkshire by combining amateur, but highly trained singers, with professional soloists and orchestral musicians.  After the tragic loss of such an inspirational founder, under the direction of excellent musical directors, SCS continued to perform in Strathaven and beyond. 

Our repertoire reflects the best of classical music, from JS Bach to Antonio Vivaldi, from the sixteen hundreds to the twenty-first century.

A not uneventful first fifty years and now we are ready to build and to seek out new adventures. Today, we might add that we are here, simply for people who love to sing, and for audiences who love to listen to us singing!
