Lots of positive feedback from the audience at our annual Christmas Concert. Once again we enjoyed the company of Coalburn Silver Band and we survived the ravages of the cold and flu viruses which raged through these parts, despite such illness requiring our scheduled tenor soloist to call off less than a day before our performance.
Enter Colin Bryce, Strathaven’s own Tartan Tenor, I didn’t see the white charger but he certainly rescued our renditions of ‘Oh Holy Night’ and ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’, for which we are incredibly grateful.
The programme included lots of Christmas essentials – Oh Come All Ye Faithful, Hark the Herald Angel, We Wish You a Merry Christmas and many more as well as a few less seasonal.
