Chairs stacked, music packed, shortbread crumbs swept away, Strathaven Choral’s Year is almost over….
An absolutely full house and ensuring that everybody was seated delayed the start of last night’s concert. Although our paying guests were no sooner seated than they were invited to stand for the opening item, ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ en masse. That set the scene for a lively programme of traditional carols, contemporary music and a bit of Handel.
The Choir sang with Fiona Hobson’s excellent piano accompaniment, acapella, and with Coalburn Silver Band.
Coalburn Silver also treated us to two fantastic (I am avoiding ‘sterling’) performances.
And there was some most enthusiastic swaying!
If you were there, we’d love to hear what you thought of the evening. Go right to the bottom of this page to send your comments, signed or anonymous as you prefer.
