Come and Join Us!

Strathaven Choral Society is a lively mixed-voice choir performing mainly classical works. Our major concerts generally take place in May, and either November or December each year, with occasional variations or additional events. We also host a seasonal performance of Christmas Carols and festive fun every December.

Our members come from all over Lanarkshire and beyond. Rehearsals are held on Monday nights at 7.30 pm from August to  June in the Strathaven Evangelical Church, 10 Lethame Road.  We always welcome new members (particularly Tenors – male and female!) If you would like to join us, please don’t be shy. You can contact us  for further information or just come along to any of our rehearsals. Subscriptions are £66 per annum (£47 for students, seniors, unwaged, £82 concession couple) due in August or in two instalments, (August and January).

A registered charity, annual elections ensure our committee reflects the interests of members.

Strathaven Choral Society has firm roots in the town where we rehearse and often perform.  We encourage the involvement of children and young people, especially through our annual Christmas Carol Concert Poster Competition (primary schools) and through the award of a prize to a music student at Strathaven Academy. We also participate in music making throughout Scotland (and, occasionally, beyond).  Discover Strathaven Choral Society through this website, and then, come and join us.
